Warm and sweaty children’s feet
Warm and sweaty feet are normal for children, especially in the summer months. Children are active every day and therefore materials that surround their feet are important. Bisgaard uses natural materials for children's shoes to ensure the best comfort and climate for the feet.
Calf-skin leather
Leather is a natural material derived from cow skin. In our children's shoes, we use calf leather. As well as being trendy and modern, quality leather is comfortable to wear. In comparison to artificial leather and other synthetic materials, leather has more breathability and insulating power. In turn, the shoes are warm but does not make children's feet overheat. Shoes produced in synthetic materials often give off an unpleasant smell, but this is rarely the case with shoes made from natural materials.
The lining of Bisgaard shoes is also produced from soft natural leather as it provides optimal comfort. Leather's natural characteristics ensure that warmth is captured, and excess moisture can escape, ensuring a healthy climate for your feet.
Wool
Wool is a temperature-regulating and insulating material, derived predominately from sheep. It keeps the feet warm during winter, while it transports the heat away from the foot during summer. Wool can absorb about 35% moisture without it feeling wet. At high humidity, wool will absorb moisture and create warmth. In dry air, it will absorb the moisture from the feet and therefore cool it down. We use wool for our home shoes and as lining in our winter boots.
Cotton
Cotton is a natural fabric derived from the cotton plant. The natural cotton fibers in cotton fabric are great to use when you need a durable and smooth surface that doesn't form a knot after use. At the same time, cotton is a soft and comfortable. It is temperature-regulating and sweat-absorbing, which helps to transport moisture away from the body, that is why we use it as lining in our rubber boots.
