What is Thinsulate?
Thinsulate is a lightweight insulating material used in footwear to keep feet warm without making shoes heavy or stiff. It consists of very fine fibres that efficiently retain warmth while still allowing the foot to breathe.
What does Thinsulate mean in everyday use?
Thinsulate provides comfortable warmth on cold days and is designed to work with movement. The insulation resists compression, helping to retain warmth even when the child plays, walks, and moves actively. Shoes with Thinsulate can keep feet warm in temperatures down to around –15 °C, though warmth perception may vary as children’s feet retain heat differently. At the same time, the material adds minimal bulk and does not affect the shoe’s fit or flexibility.
When is Thinsulate a good choice?
Thinsulate is particularly well suited for autumn and winter, when extra warmth is needed in everyday life – for school, childcare, and outdoor play. It is a good choice when comfort and freedom of movement remain important, even in colder weather.
